Diego Checa Hidalgo is a doctor of Contemporary History at the University of Granada, Spain, where he currently works as an assistant professor. He is also a visiting researcher at the Center for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University, United Kingdom. He is a member of the Center for International Cooperation and Development Studies and a fellow of the Institute for Peace and Conflicts in Granada.
He has specialized in the study of the theory and practice of nonviolent action and the international management of conflicts from the perspective of contemporary history, the history of international relations, and peace research. He has conducted projects in Latin America, the Middle East, and Southern Europe
