The 6th Middle East Congress on Politics and Society regularly organized every two years by the Middle East Institute, Sakarya University, will be held on November 11-13, 2022. Unlike the fifth congress in 2020 that convened online due to the pandemic, the opening day of the sixth congress (November 11) will be held in-person at the Sakarya University Congress Center with the participation of invited speakers. However, on the following two days (November 12-13), congress panelists will present their papers virtually. Therefore, the panels of the first day can be attended both physically and online, whereas the second and third days can only be followed online.
In this sense, the congress aims to create a platform that brings together those who are interested in the region, considering historical and current developments that affect the Middle East from different perspectives around various subjects, and thus contributing to research on the region and to new perspectives. The Middle East Institute of the Sakarya University, which has been working to this end since its foundation, invites all researchers and academics to the 6th Middle East Congress on Politics and Society, both to present their research and to participate as listeners in the academic environment provided by the congress. The purpose of such gathering is to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the region. Apart from the issues addressed below, you can access detailed information and current announcements from the official website of the congress.
